Busta Moo

Busta Moo (Holstein Fresian calf/steer). Arrived: 17 July 2014

Busta was owned by some inexperienced people (when it comes to caring for farm animals) who quickly tired of the high level of care a young calf needs and started thinking about selling him or expediting his trip to their dinner plate. Lucky for this little guy, a very caring girl who had just received some money for her 16th birthday, got wind of his plight and asked the owners to sell him to her so that she may save him.  Fortunately the owners agreed and not long afterwards, this beautiful girl found out about Happy Hooves and asked us to take him on.  She couldn’t keep him herself as she didn’t know how to care for him properly and lacked the space to give him a forever home.

When Busta arrived he was pretty skinny – it seemed that he was not being fed enough milk formula by his former owners, and he was riddled with cattle fleas.  So we slowly increased and improved the milk rations and when he was strong enough, treated him for the parasites.  Busta had a very healthy appetite so he transitioned well to more food and grew quickly.

He is a beautiful, fun-loving, intelligent boy and we are so very glad that he found his way to safety so that he can live out his long life with us, his much-adored sidekick, Ellen DeHeiferis and all his other friends

Would you like to help us to take care of Busta Moo?  One off donations and sponsorship gifts are available now to support our work. Thank you for caring about farm animals.
