Rosemary

Rosemary (goat) Arrived 8 June 2016

Rosemary arrived at Happy Hooves with Jackie Jackie and Billy McLeod. They were surrendered by their previous owner because she had to move and start a new job and sadly couldn’t take them with her. This is what she had to say about Rosemary:

“Rosemary is a female Saanen Goat (we’re not sure about that – lacks features of Saanen goats) who came into my life at around 5 months old as a friend for Patsy with her brother Nugget.  They were happy and full of life but unfortunately the beautiful affectionate Nugget passed away suddenly from bloat. Sadly, Rosemary took Nuggets passing badly as they had been inseparable, she mourned deeply and didn’t come near me for weeks as I think maybe she thought I had hurt Nugget and was somehow responsible for his death. Her whole personality changed, she withdrew from everyone, becoming cautious and quiet – it was so sad to see.  Over time she is slowly finding her confidence again but she still has a way to go with this. She has made friends with Patsy and follows her around everywhere, even though Patsy bosses her around they have a respectful and essential relationship. She is a beautiful girl who is yet to show her full personality due to her grief, she will need a loving and gentle home to help her to on her journey to heal her broken heart.”

She is 3-4 years old – comes to her name – gentle and has never used her horns on people – good with dogs and chickens – quiet and waits her turn at feed time – has the most beautiful nature – not an escape artist – her favourite thing to do is to hang out with her goat friends and go to the dog park in the car.”

Rosemary, Jackie Jackie and Billy McLeod  join our trip of 14 other goats! When we first opened the sanctuary here in Gidgegannup, we had two: Rupert and Thurman.
