Tonto (ram lamb). Arrived 30 June 2015
Tonto is a Hampshire x Merino lamb who arrived at Happy Hooves Farm Sanctuary with Annie and Ella. He was three weeks old, and had been abandoned by his mum when very small – this breed of sheep are notoriously skittish and unfortunately mothers can easily be scared away from their lambs. A gorgeous couple drove him and the other two all the way from Lake King (480 km), to the sanctuary to make sure they had a safe and secure home to grow up in.
Tonto has gorgeous markings – we see why he was given this name!
Ella, Tonto, Annie and Baart – Tonto is practicing his Stevie Wonder impersonation (seriously… we were a bit worried, but it was just an itch he didn’t know how to scratch).
