Felix (duck) Arrived 18th November 2017 We received a phone call in mid-November from someone who had a Muscovy drake, they were worried about their dog possibly attacking the duck. We agreed to give him a home at Happy Hooves, although we weren’t sure how he would get along with Chester, the Muscovy already residing at the sanctuary, as Chester can be a bit of a bully. Peter (duck – Appleyard x). Arrived 20 November 2015 This stunningly beautiful duck was rescued from Tomato Lake, Belmont, suffering from botulism; she was given intensive care by one of the wonderful WA Seabird Rescue people, but was unable to stay in suburbia due to her very loud and frequent quacking; she was brought to Happy Hooves where she still has a little bit of rehabilitation to do. Dilbert (drake): Arrived 2009 UPDATE: July 2015. Dilbert was found dead on our property, believe to have been attacked by a fox or cat during daylight hours. We hope you didn’t suffer too much 🙁 RIP big boy. Dilbert was Ric and Maree’s very first rescue, before they established Happy Hooves Farm Sanctuary. He was found wandering the streets in Darlington, after being left behind by previous “owner”.
