Marley (lamb) Arrived 6th September 2018 This gorgeous little boy was found by a couple working on a sheep station near Carnarvon, Western Australia. Marley was only about a week old and had been abandoned by his mother. The couple took him in and cared for the young lamb, but needed to find somewhere safe for Marley to go as they would soon be leaving the country. They contacted us, and we were happy to offer Marley a loving home. Marley formed a close bond with Spring, a goat kid…

Jade
Jade (lamb) Arrived 22nd May 2018 Sweet little Jade was found laying out in a paddock, her mother had abandoned her after she was born. She arrived at the sanctuary only hours old, her umbilical chord attached and still fresh. Having been left alone so young, we were fairly certain that she would not have received the adequate amount of colostrum from her mothers milk, if any at all. Colostrum is critical for a newborn’s health, it contains energy, nutrients and antibodies which boost the infant’s immune system. Jade was…

May
May (lamb) Arrived 14th May 2018 Little May was one of the very few births we’ve had here at Happy Hooves. Her late mother Claudia was part of the ‘Wild Seven‘ who arrived back in December 2017. We were unaware that Claudia was pregnant until one morning we spotted a little white and caramel lamb by her side. Little May was Claudia’s shadow, she rarely left her side. May is now almost four and half months old. Sadly her mother Claudia recently passed away…

Nigel
Nigel (sheep) Arrived 2nd August 2017 Nigel came from the same farm as Angus and Fergus, luckily he came to us in much better health than his friends. He is one of the most affectionate lambs we have ever met. He loves when the sanctuary has visitors, he’ll find someone to smooch up to and will stay cuddled up in their arms until they leave. Nigel and his young friends have recently graduated to the adult flock. We hope he makes many new friends and enjoys his life here at…

Arlo
Arlo (sheep) Arrived 5th November 2017 In early November we were contacted be someone in the local area who had a few sheep that they were breeding, apparently one of the lambs wasn’t doing so well. When we arrived to pick up the little Damara-cross, he was very flat and suffering with an eye infection. After picking him up, he was taken to the vet so his eye could be assessed – he was treated with antibiotics and eye drops twice daily. After his treatment, Arlo’s eye was as good…

Angus & Fergus
Angus & Fergus (sheep) Arrived 2nd August 2017 Angus and Fergus were two sick little boys when they came into the care of Happy Hooves Farm Sanctuary. They had been dumped on a woman by her farming neighbour, and she did not have the means to care for them. When our vet assessed them, he was quite sure that Angus, who was very sick with pneumonia, was not going to make it through the night. Despite the odds and an awful cough, Angus proved himself to be a fighter, and…

Evie
Evie (lamb) Arrived 20th June 2017 Young Evie was the victim of a brutal dog attack. The mauled lamb was found by a member of the public, and had been dropped off at Armadale pound. One of our volunteers immediately went and picked her up and took her to our vet, where she stayed for three nights to undergo treatment for her wounds. She had suffered lacerations to her face and neck, and her right eye was damaged beyond repair. We were not prepared for what we saw when Evie arrived at…
