Two Mature Mares in Urgent Need of a Home

Location: Perth

These beautiful mares are mother and daughter. Magic was given to her family at just a few months of age. A few years later she was in foal, and gave birth to her daughter Shahaan. The pair have lived together on a farm ever since, and are inseparable.

Their primary care giver is elderly herself, and is facing some health challenges, she feels she is no longer able to give the mares the care they deserve. The horses’ owner has been a caretaker of the farm for over 20 years and will be leaving shortly, due to her age and deteriorating health. She would like to find the family’s beloved horses a loving home where they will be spoilt and treated as members of the family, as they always have been.

The mares will be wormed and vaccinated before handover to their new family. They have both had their teeth done recently; Magic needs her teeth done again in 6 months due to long growth.

An adoption fee of $50 each applies.

Animal Actionist promotes non breeding of all rescued animals, particularly in the interest of breaking the cycle of unwanted farm animals (most of them males,) that find themselves with little time to find a new home and end up in danger of slaughter. All farm animals adopted via Animal Actionist are intended as family pets, and therefore the same rules that apply for non breeding of cats and dogs, applies to these animals too. If you apply to adopt you thereby agree and are bound to not use this animal for breeding.

All suitable applications are forwarded to the current custodian for consideration, and you will be contacted as soon as possible to discuss your offer further. Please understand that it may take a few days for us to respond to you depending on the amount of applications received, and it is never a case of first come, first served with animal adoptions, as we have to do our best to locate the absolute best homes for the animals. If you have any problems or further queries, please contact Animal Actionist direct via the “contact us” link. Thank you so much for caring for animals.

Laila (goat) Arrived 8th June 2017

In early June we received a call from Cockburn Pound, they had picked up a little goat that was found wandering. Unable to find her owner, they contacted us. Laila was picked up the next day and brought back to the sanctuary.

She was in rather poor condition when she first arrived, but has steadily gained weight and is now a healthy size.

She is a sweet-natured goat, inquisitive and loves human interaction. In her short time here she has already gained popularity with the HH team and volunteers due her sociable personality.

She will be joining the herd of goats soon, where she will enjoy a long life of grazing and frolicking with friends.

Would you like to help us to take care of Laila?  One off donations and sponsorship gifts are available now to support our work. Thank you for caring about farm animals.
