Goldie (horse) Arrived 23rd February 2018 Goldie is a beautiful 21 year old thoroughbred mare. She was initially on our rehome list as her previous owner was experiencing financial problems and falling behind in her agistment fees. As the situation became more desperate, and no one offered Goldie a home, we decided to bring her to Happy Hooves while we continued to look for the perfect home for her. Goldie’s teeth were in such bad condition the horse dentist said it may cost thousands to have them fixed. She had…

Bella & Dana (pigs) Arrived 3rd February 2018 Bella and Dana were much loved companion animals. Bella was purchased by her previous owners as a piglet, and later she was joined by Dana who was a rescue pig. The girls had lived with their previous owners for years, but unfortunately their owners were experiencing ongoing health problems within the family, and reluctantly they needed to rehome their dear girls. After months of advertising the pair, we were unsuccessful at securing a loving home for them, so we offered them a…

The Wild Seven (sheep) Arrived 21st of December 2017 In December 2017 Mr Snuggles and his female companions Selena, Katrina, Claudia, Ginny, Grace and young Dotti arrived at Happy Hooves. These seven damara crosses were impounded by Cockburn rangers. The owners did not come forward to claim the seven lost sheep, and so they made their way to the sanctuary. Soon after their arrival Mr Snuggles had a visit to our vet for castration as we didn’t want the family to grow any bigger. When the group arrived Dotti was…

Fred & Mali (pigs) Arrived 15th of December 2017 These handsome boys were on our rehome list for sometime. Their previous owners had become increasingly busy with other commitments and no longer had the time to spend with Fred and Mali. As we’d just finished our ‘Pig Paradise’ extension we decided to offer them a forever home here at Happy Hooves Farm Sanctuary. The boys have settled in well and have made lots of new friends. Would you like to help us to take care of Fred and Mali?  One…

Audrey, Betty, Lucas and Jack (sheep) Arrived 29th of November 2017 These four friends were seized from a property in Bejoording, and impounded. Their time was up and the rangers contacted us to see if we could provide these woolly friends with a home – Which of course we have. Audrey, Betty, Lucas and Jack arrived at the sanctuary in November, 2017. Initially they spent some time in an isolation yard so we could make sure they were wormed, vaccinated and disease free before they joined the Happy Hooves flock.…

Camilla (pig) Arrived 23rd of November 2017 Little Camilla was living in suburbia with a some Rottweiler friends. Her owner’s had purchased her from a farmer to raise themselves, and eventually consume. They had not intended to get attached to the little pig, but inevitably they did.
