Gumpy got lucky and found her way to Possum Valley Animal Sanctuary. Thank you so much Chris and Mark!!

Gumpy is a sweet natured female goat located in Perth eastern suburbs. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with her, she is bursting with personality and character! She has just become too dominant with her current goat family as she is far bigger than the others, causing some stress for them and the family who love her. For this reason, they are regretfully reaching out to us to help them find her a new, loving home. Here’s the story from Erin:

We found Gumpy as a stray and could not find her owners. Gumpy is shy when meeting new people – but soon warms to you. She loves to be around people and loves pats and treats (especially liquorice). She does not enjoy being restrained but is getting more comfortable with this as time goes on. She is friendly with our dogs and loves to play with them – she will even try sneak inside through the doggy door with them. She is a beautiful girl and we are only rehoming as it’s not safe to leave her with our mini goats due to their size difference.

It would be great to find this lovely girl a super loving and happy home, especially if she could have some similar sized goat friends to keep her company and room to roam and do goat things.

QUICK REFERENCE LIST:

NAME: Gumpy

AGE: Approximately 1 – 3 years

BREED: Unknown

HEIGHT: Approx 50cm to shoulder

WEIGHT: Approx 40kg.

WORMED: Yes

DESEXED: No (but not to be rehomed as a breeding goat)

VACCINATED: Yes

TEMPERAMENT: Inquisitive, fun, playful and sometimes a little boisterous. She tends to pick on the much smaller mini goats at meal times. Gumpy loves a scratch and special treats, other animals like dogs, and humans too.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS: Gumpy is not recommended as a paddock mate to much smaller sized goats, she needs similar sized goat company and/or other friendly animals that are gentle but not overly submissive. Gumpy loves to feel part of the family so she is looking for a home that will spoil her a bit (or a lot).

ADOPTION FEE: $70 (negotiable with the right home). Gumpy will be drenched and vaccinated before placement at new home.

* Animal Actionist promotes non breeding of all rescued animals, particularly in the interest of breaking the cycle of unwanted farm animals (most of them males,) that find themselves with little time to find a new home and end up in danger of slaughter. All farm animals adopted via Animal Actionist are intended as family pets, and therefore the same rules that apply for non breeding of cats and dogs, applies to these animals too. If you apply to adopt you thereby agree and are bound to not use this animal for breeding.

All suitable applications are forwarded to the current custodian for consideration, and you will be contacted as soon as possible to discuss your offer further. Please understand that it may take a few days for us to respond to you depending on the amount of applications received, and it is never a case of first come, first served with animal adoptions, as we have to do our best to locate the absolute best homes for the animals. If you have any problems or further queries, please contact Animal Actionist direct via the “contact us” link. Thank you so much for caring for animals.
