UPDATE – Turks found a wonderful home in the Perth Eastern Hills – thank you so much Lauren and Anthony for taking him in!
This handsome young man is looking for a safe and loving home. Turkeys are incredibly emotive and intelligent birds and make amazing animal companions and TurkeyDurky is no exception. Here’s the story from his friend, Sophie;
Turks (aka TurkeyDurky) came to us as an egg from SA travelling in a bra. Hatched and raised by hand with chickens, ducks, cats and dogs. Although he may be confused he is an all round super pet who is the bringer of smiles in the morning. Overly fond of his food yet the best cuddler, gardener and guard dog. He will inquisitively look for you through the windows of your house if you fail to greet him.
TurkeyDurky will be wormed before handover to his new family, and an adoption fee of $20 applies.
Special Considerations: Turks should be homed with similar-sized poultry, kept separate from baby chickens/birds, and would be best suited to a home with another turkey for company.
We hope you can help us to help this lovely boy … please fill in the Expression of Interest form below if you would like to know more, or offer to adopt.
PLEASE SHARE THIS POST WITH ANYONE YOU KNOW WHO MAY BE ABLE TO OFFER A WONDERFUL HOME.

* Animal Actionist promotes non breeding of all rescued animals, particularly in the interest of breaking the cycle of unwanted farm animals (most of them males,) that find themselves with little time to find a new home and end up in danger of slaughter. All farm animals adopted via Animal Actionist are intended as family pets, and therefore the same rules that apply for non breeding of cats and dogs, applies to these animals too. If you apply to adopt you thereby agree and are bound to not use this animal for breeding.
All suitable applications are forwarded to the current custodian for consideration, and you will be contacted as soon as possible to discuss your offer further. Please understand that it may take a few days for us to respond to you depending on the amount of applications received, and it is never a case of first come, first served with animal adoptions, as we have to do our best to locate the absolute best homes for the animals. If you have any problems or further queries, please contact Animal Actionist direct via the “contact us” link. Thank you so much for caring for animals.
