Time ran out for Peppa at the Pound so we had to find her emergency accommodation – so she was moved to our place, Happy Hooves Farm Sanctuary. Before she came here we arranged for her spey operation with the help of her foster carer Donna who generously transported her all the way to the vets and then all the way to our place, which was a BIG day of driving for her – thank you Donna! Peppa is an absolute darling and has fit in very well here, so she has now become a permanent resident at Happy Hooves. We had to give her a slightly different name as we already have a “Peppa” living here. Now known as “Peppercorn”, she has found her sanctuary at last.
This sweet little girl was picked up by a Perth pound, but nobody claimed her. With an uncertain future facing her, we were able to help Peppa find a safe temporary home away from the pound environment and now we are looking for her perfect permanent home.
Peppa has a fun and friendly nature, although she does nip a little bit and can be a tad bossy. Her foster mum is working with her to help overcome these reactive habits and has already seen some improvement which is very encouraging. Peppa would best suit a carer with a firm yet gentle hand to continue to help her to learn good manners – she’s an intelligent girl so she will learn quickly from a skilled and confident trainer. Her new home will also need to be able to accommodate her growing size. We think she is likely to reach 100kgs but she could end up as big as 200kg+ if our estimate is out; so a large paddock, a cool wallow and shade for summer, and secure sheltered pen for winter are a must. Pigs love to dig and Peppa is no exception to this rule… her new family would need to be understanding of this and be able to allow her to do this essential and piggy fun activity.
Peppa will be vaccinated before handover to her new family. Sterilisation is recommended for her long term health and wellbeing – this will be discussed further with potential adopters.

* Animal Actionist promotes non breeding of all rescued animals, particularly in the interest of breaking the cycle of unwanted farm animals (most of them males,) that find themselves with little time to find a new home and end up in danger of slaughter. All farm animals adopted via Animal Actionist are intended as family pets, and therefore the same rules that apply for non breeding of cats and dogs, applies to these animals too. If you apply to adopt you thereby agree and are bound to not use this animal for breeding.
All suitable applications are forwarded to the current custodian for consideration, and you will be contacted as soon as possible to discuss your offer further. Please understand that it may take a few days for us to respond to you depending on the amount of applications received, and it is never a case of first come, first served with animal adoptions, as we have to do our best to locate the absolute best homes for the animals.
