Thank you to everyone who applied for this adorable duo. A home has been chosen and the girls have made their way to their new digs. 😀
The following request comes from Cindy, a vet who purchased a couple of pretty female goats via Gumtree. Perhaps typically, the advertiser failed to let Cindy know that the girls may be pregnant until after the purchase was finalised. An avid animal lover, Cindy was concerned that if she gave the kids back to the original owner (he offered) or advertised the girls on Gumtree again, they may end up in someone’s pot! (that’s why she purchased them in the first place, to protect them from the chance of being killed for food).
Cindy would love to keep the girls but unfortunately things are not working out at her place. Her horse has taken a distinct dislike of the girls, so she chases them! This causes mayhem and sets the dogs barking, which is making the neighbours very unhappy. In an attempt to restore harmony, Cindy has had to put the girls in a separate yard which they are quickly become bored with… so they desperately need an experienced home that can offer space, enrichment, gentle yard mates, love and safety. Cindy has generously offered to arrange the desexing of any male kids should they birth a boy or two – so agreeance to de-sexing any boys would be a prerequisite for potential adopters.
In the spirit of animal rescue and keeping needy animal numbers to a minimum, we would also like to find a home that would commit to no further breeding from these girls, and who would keep the babies too. It’s a tall order, but we hope we can find that special someone out there who loves these intelligent and delightful animals enough to give them the security they deserve.
Do you think you (or someone you know) could help?
