Miss Anna is about to celebrate a rather sad anniversary; the 31st of August marks 12 months since the day she was surrendered to us. And yet still she sits in a kennel, waiting for her forever home. When she arrived, Anna was a tiny scrawny creature with 4 newborn kittens. She was fiercely protective of her little ones, earning herself the nickname of ‘Screamer’ thanks to the horrendous noise she made anytime another cat was in the vicinity of her babies. Anna still hates other cats more passionately than any feline I have ever known and DEFINITELY requires a cat-free household, however, she has stayed with a foster carer who had two outside dogs (she was indoors) and this didn’t seem to cause a problem.
Anna remained in foster care until her babies were big enough to leave her and go to homes of their own. She was a great mum and her 4 gorgeous babies were adopted very quickly but sadly Anna was over-looked in our kennels time and time again. After many long weeks up for adoption Anna did go to a new home, where she thought she would be loved and treasured for the rest of her days, but after just a few months she was returned to us when her new owner had to move interstate unexpectedly. In the time she had been away, our vivacious and out-going (and very small!) Anna had somehow ballooned into an overweight, nervous and unhappy blob of a thing. Poor Anna spent several months in the kennels awaiting a home without any luck, so she was placed in foster care yet again; her wonderful foster mum helped Anna lose some weight (but she still has a bit to go!) and has brought her out of her shell once again.
But now she is here yet AGAIN! We couldn’t be more keen, to see this beautiful girl in her forever home before her one year anniversary comes around.
Anna is a sweet and friendly girl with a bit of a feisty side too J. She would be best suited to a home without small kids as she isn’t the sort to be poked, prodded or carried around – she would be lovely for a nice quiet single or couple who want a low maintenance new addition to the family. So if you think you’re the one she’s been waiting for all this time, please contact Cat Haven!
