UPDATE: A great lady in Toodyay has offered a temporary home (and some may stay on permanently) to this crowd. Four of the girls have already gone up to the property and are enjoying the open space and extra grazing.. along with a big roll of hay (24 hour buffet style) and a weekly bag of lupins. They’ve also made pals with the resident cows and are slowly getting to know the 3 resident sheep. A few more of the girls will follow shortly. Thanks very much Maggie for offering to foster care these beautiful girls…. you’re an angel to animals!
After a long dry summer we have no grass left and too many sheep on our paddocks. The paddocks are down to bare dirt now and we’re having to give dry feed, so it is time to find a new place for our fluff balls to graze for a while, or maybe to move to permanently (if the place is just right). 🙂
Our fluffy’s are full of personality and each is loved dearly, we would keep them here but it’s not fair on them to be stuck on a property that offers no grazing – as sheep love to graze so much, in fact – they live for it! We also need to give our paddocks a good rest to encourage regeneration – so we need to get all munching mouths off for at least a couple of months (or longer).
If you have a securely fenced paddock with access to water that needs a good “mow”, please let us know – our girls (and boy) would be very happy to offer their free mowing and fertilising service in exchange for love and care.
Primarily we are looking for temporary relocation for our babies but seen as we actually have too many sheep for the size of our property (we took on a few rescues this year), we would be willing to let some go to a permanent home – provided we know they will be loved, cared for, sheared when needed and NEVER eaten. *A small adoption fee and written agreement will apply for permanent placements.
If you can help, please contact Maree (details below) or leave a message on this post. Please ask all your friends with property too. If you live in the Perth Eastern suburbs – that would be even better (but not essential) as we are located in Parkerville and it will make transportation easier.
Hope to hear from you soon!
