***UPDATE SEPT  2011***

Dr Roan has decided that this special boy is too good to give up, so he is now a permanent member of her happy little family. 😀  Congratulations to Roan and lucky little Spike who couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome!  ❤

You may remember this lovely man from an email a while ago – he really is the most relaxed, affectionate cat I’ve seen in a while, and I’m so sad that no one has come forward to take him in…

He came in with an old injury – fractured and premanently dislocated Right elbow – which the owner had not taken the time to (and could not afford to) treat. But Dr Roan was just not going to allow him to be put down so she took him in and amputated his damaged, now pretty much not reparable, very sore leg.

He is about 6 years old, tested negative to cat aids and leukaemia, castrated, and now microchipped, fully vaccinated, has had a dental clean, and is doing really well, down to a healthy weight, running around fine on his 3 remaining legs.

He is otherwise is in perfect health and SOOOOOOO affectionate, he loves to just lie on your lap or cuddle/nuzzle your neck, he half drools in exctasy from all the newfound affection in his life!!

He is very chilled out, and (partly due to only having 3 legs also maybe?) tends to not move around much; sleep, cuddles and food are his favourite past-times! He deserves a family who can give him more cuddles, or who would benefit themselves from all the love he has to give. He is fine with other cat friendly animals ad just avoids my cat-cranky other cat!

As soon as I read Spike’s story – I knew I had to share it with you all. What a little battler and how lucky for him that Dr Roan has decided to help him. We love you Dr Roan! Please consider helping little Spike – who is obviously overflowing with love and gratitude for the help he has received so far. Wouldn’t he make a most beautiful & delightful companion?

This lil’ man has got to be the most relaxed, affectionate cat I’ve seen in a while. He came in with an old injury – fractured and premanently dislocated Right elbow – which the owner had not taken the time to (and could not afford to) treat. But Dr Roan was just not going to allow him to be put down so she took him in (deja vu?) and amputated his damaged, now pretty much not reparable, very sore leg.

He is about 6 years old, negative to cat aids and leukaemia, castrated, and now micro-chipped, fully vaccinated, has had a dental clean, and is doing really well on his 3 healthy remaining legs.

He is a little overweight at will need to drop a bit of weight to avoid overloading his other 3 legs but otherwise is in perfect health and SOOOOOOO affectionate, he loves to just lie on your lap or cuddle/nuzzle your neck, he half drools in exctasy from all the newfound affection in his life!!

He is very chilled out, and (partly due to only having 3 legs also maybe?) tends to not move around much; sleep, cuddles and food are his favourite past-times! I would keep him in a heartbeat but I feel that he deserves a family who can give him more cuddles, or who would benefit themselves from all the love he has to give. he is a bt scared of other animals but mainly because he can’t run away very fast if they attack him, and he co-exists well with my other cat-friendly cats and dog.

Sincerely,

Dr Roan Johnson
