I am VERY HAPPY to let you know that Leon has found a wonderful home at last!
I am elated and sad all at the same time – Leon was “one of those cats” who gets under your skin and nuzzles up to your heart – even when you try your utmost to not allow him to do so. Leon was trusting, warm, playful, mischevious & protective all at the same time – he tried to take over our home and call it his own. Of course, I’m in the business of finding a home for these guys, not for keeping them (the house would soon be overflowing, and besides, he tried to beat up my cat!) so it never was an option for him to stay here. I always try to keep a safe distance (emotionally) – so that the transition from here to there is less painful for us all. But… like I said, Leon didn’t allow me to do that so yes, I’m sad to see him go and anxious that he will be happy in his new home. I hope I didn’t allow him to love me too much as that would mean a change now would be hard on him. I hope ….
I do know that the lovely lady who came to adopt him will definitely love him to the maximum! It was easy to see that Leon liked her instantly – and that is such a brilliant sign! Thank you U’Llynda for opening your heart to Leon and for offering the opportunity to share his life with you. I know for sure that you have a very special cat with you now – and I wish you both so much fun and happiness! May he warm your bed at night, and not choose your couch as his scratching post! 😉
Time for me to move on…. there are many other kitties needing help. Watch this blog for the next instalment!
Love and gratitude to the animals that make my heart sing, and the humans that restore my faith.
Leon is now fully recovered and now SERIOUSLY needs to find a home. He is cooped up in a single room as I cannot allow him in the house as my dog and cat fight him. I’m unable to let him wander outside as my yard is not enclosed and I cannot risk him running away and entering the uncertain world of a stray again. I spend as much time as I can with him but of course, it’s not enough – he really does live to be patted and loved. PLEASE consider giving Leon a home – if he can sit by your side he is completely content – he really is the most adorable cat with very striking markings (a spotted leopard tummy!) and has such a great temperament. I think he would really suit being an only pet but he should integrate ok with other animals given time and supervision.
I am currently fostering a very sweet cat that really MUST be saved! Leon is an absolute darling, very VERY affectionate and no trouble whatsoever! He was handed in to the Cat Haven as a stray having been found in Clarkson hanging around someone’s house for a little while. He was unsterilized when he came in but of course the Haven have sterilised him now. Leon was sick with flu but he is recovering quickly and is now getting very bored in the single room I have to keep him in (my cat is very jealous and will fight him if he wanders the house!!). He will soon be fully recovered and desperately needing a permanent home so PLEASE consider taking Leon in. He is honestly an absolutely adorable character who LOVES a cuddle and to play – he would make a perfect companion for just about anyone! He is coming out of his shell and the last thing i want to do is send him back to the Cat Haven and an uncertain future – he’s just too adorable and so deserves to live a happy, loved life. Thanks for helping – please spread the word for Leon and other abandoned pets listed here http://ow.ly/1xpCT
